DEAR
WANDERER!
Welcome to our nature therapy trail!
The trail, created by local NGOs and private individuals, invites you for a pleasant walk through the hills of Somogy, with 7 stops and mental health exercises that encourage you to get away from the everyday life and just listen to yourself and the landscape. You’ll be given exercises for this walk that promote reflection, stress relief and calmness.
Practical information:
- Length of the trail: 5 km
- Duration of the trail: approximately 3 hours, with exercises and stops
- Recommended for young children and older people alike, on a hot day only with water and appropriate sun protection (hat, sunscreen)!
- The trail route is indicated by our logo
- You will find toilets here at the start.
- The same rules apply to the trail as to any other hiking trail: leave footprints only, not litter! Bring the trash back with you and throw it in the trash here.
- Pay attention to the hunting season!
Follow the signs on the map and follow the trail. At the end of the walk, you’ll come back to the same place.
If you enjoyed the experience, upload your photos with the hashtag #nyiminyugi to your favourite social media site so we can admire them too! We also created a photo point for you to take photos!
Have a nice walk!
The stations are the result of a joint effort by the following organisations and NGOs in 2024.

CALM

Dear Wanderer!
Welcome to the first stop on the Nyimi Nyugi trail.
You have already taken the first step on your path to inner peace! To find your peace, it is important to be able to reflect on what it means to you.
Here on the wall you can find some ideas to get you thinking, but please also write down what peace means to you. You can even write more than one thing.
Once you have your own definitions, look for them along the way. If you are touched by something, stop for a moment and enjoy that feeling, store it deep in your mind so you can take it with you.

To focus, stop for a minute, quiet your mind. If it helps, then close your eyes, say a short prayer, or think of a song or poem that you like, or anything that helps you articulate what calm means to you.
Take three deep breaths, feel the fresh air flush your lungs, and with the released air, let go of thoughts of the everyday busy-busy stuff.

LETTING GO
Good that you came!
You are standing before a gateway, a symbol of arrival, a passage between two states. We invite you on a journey. Here is your chance to enter a fantastic place! Leave behind the negative energies, the bad influences, all that binds you, and embark on a magical journey.

Think about where you came from and where you are going! Is there anything on your journey that you would no longer carry and would like to put down? Or what would you like to pick up and take with you?
- Pick up a stick or a leaf or a piece of earth! Grasp it well! Now open your fingers and simply let it fall.
It sounds simple to let go of something, but it’s not so easy to do… Or is it? - Pick a feeling, a problem you want to let go of. Notice what you feel, become aware of it.
- Can you let go of this feeling?
- Do you want to let go of this feeling?
- When?
- Do you want to feel better?
- Notice how your original feeling has changed.
Feel free to repeat the exercise.
Step through the gate!
We’ve written a few thoughts on the gate in front of you as guidance for your journey. Read them, and try to truly feel them. Take the ones that resonate with you along your path in your thoughts—and if something comes to mind, add it.
Step through the gate!
We wish you a magical journey!

CONNECTION TO HEAVEN AND EARTH
Welcome!
This station is about reflection and contemplation. That’s why after each step, it’s worth quietly looking inwards for a moment. If you are a group, one of you should read the text and the others should listen.

Step one:
Find your comfortable spot on the station island. You can sit, stand, touch the giant root, the pillars, or even your travel companion.
Close your eyes!
You have entered the gate, the gate of your soul, into the world of love.
This is our gift since the beginning of time: our shield and our weapon in our noisy world.
Step two:
Silence your mind, open your heart.
Feel: beneath you is mother earth and the past that lies within.
The roots of your ancestors are your message, their pillars are your handholds in the storm of your earthly existence.
Step three:
Settle into this short story.
On this spot, 100 years ago, a handful of men cut down a tree.
Hear the clatter of axes, the laughter of the villagers. By noon they were tired, hungry. Some women from the Nyim bring them lunch. They settle down and before they eat, they give thanks for this moment, give thanks for their lives.
The light filtering through the trees touches their hearts.
They are grateful because this moment is the most beautiful moment of their day: they are together, in love.
Step four:
Open your eyes: for a moment you have experienced the passing of time!
Now, live the present: admire the lights around you, hear the sounds of the forest, smile at your companion, think of your loved ones.
Step five:
Feel time pass by and take you far away.
You are tiny, yet wonderful and unrepeatable. Your soul is immortal in your impermanence.
Step Six:
Lift your eyes to the sky for a moment, silently ask a question that calls your heart, and give thanks for your life to your Creator.
Maybe this is the best moment of your day too!
Reflect on this quote
until the next station:
“Take good heed therefore how you live, not foolishly, but wisely, taking advantage of the season, for the times are evil”(Ephesians 5:15-21)
God bless you, wanderer, on your journey ahead!

A MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE
Dear Wanderer!
The solution to the challenges we face in everyday life is often simply to look at them differently. This change of perspective is what we practice at this station.
Face the hills of Somogy and take a good look at the landscape. Pay close attention to the details. What do you see? What thoughts and feelings does what you see evoke in you? What comes to your mind? Take time for yourself (and for others)!

Now try the following and look around a bit:
- Have a pee!
- Squat down!
- Lean left and right!
- Turn around, bend over and look between your legs!
- The brave ones can stand on your hands.
What has changed? Just the "outside" or the "inside" landscape? Is it only what you see that has changed, or what you think and feel? Again, just give yourself time!
The constant change in nature alone means that every time you pass by, you will see something different!
It's the same with our everyday things, including our human relationships.
Do you have life situations and challenges where you could use a change of perspective? Try it!

THE PRACTICE OF PRESENCE
Dear Wanderer!
The following simple exercise is recommended if you wish to deepen your contemplation: the conscious observation of your environment and yourself.
If you are two or more people on a hike, we suggest that one of you read the exercise slowly to the others, then take turns!
If you are alone, read through the exercise and then, with your eyes closed, recall the parts that stuck for some reason and follow each instruction; or open the QR code on the board where a member of our community will guide you through the exercise with an audio recording.

Get comfortable, close your eyes, focus on your body.
Feel the weight of it, notice how the earth feels as it holds you.
Scan yourself from the base of your feet to the top of your head to see if there is tension somewhere in your body.
Notice the tension too!
Notice your breathing without changing it.
Become aware of the air flowing through your nose and into your lungs, and from there back out.
Focus your attention on your skin. What does it feel like to feel the clothes, the air touching you? How is the air temperature? Can you feel the humidity, the breeze, the sunshine?
Now listen to your hearing. Let the sounds in. Look for sounds that bring you joy. What is the loudest sound you hear? And what is the quietest? Find a sound that comes from somewhere far away. Try to hear all the sounds at once!
When you are ready, listen to your sense of smell. Now sniff the air like a dog! What do you smell? Take a few deep breaths and sniff again.
Try what it feels like when you breathe through your mouth. Can you smell the smells like that? Is there a difference?
Finally, open your eyes and turn your attention to your vision. Try not to focus, with a soft gaze let your full field of vision in.
Observe the lack of focus, open your arms and try to find the border of the field of vision with your fingers. Try it horizontally as well as vertically! Be aware of the entire field of vision!
Pay attention to all your senses at once and how you can connect with your environment and yourself through them. Give yourself a few minutes to linger in this awareness.

THE HEALING POWER OF THE HUG
Dear Wanderer!
You are now invited to a daily, hands-on, stress-reducing, immune-boosting, self-care exercise.
Remember a kind, loving hug that made you feel like the happiest person in the world that day?
They say we need 8 hugs a day, and they also say that a 21 second hug does wonders for the body and soul.
A longer hug can stimulate positive emotions by promoting the production of happiness hormones. This lowers blood pressure, making you feel relaxed and calmer.
Hugging helps to banish feelings of loneliness, boosts self-confidence and makes you feel safe.
Every day you have the opportunity to hug family members, friends and/or yourself.

If you didn’t have a hug today yet, you can start counting your daily hugs now.
Thank yourself and your companion(s) with a hug, feeling grateful to yourself for walking this trail.
Did you know that when you hug a tree, you also produce the happy hormone oxytocin? If you're already in nature, you can try the healing power of trees. Find a healthy and preferably old tree that "speaks to you" and spend five minutes with it. Touch it (with your forehead, chest and belly) or sit under it with your back against its trunk in a comfortable position. Breathe calmly, rhythmically and evenly. Close your eyes and feel the energy of the tree flow through your body.In the morning the tree fills you with energy, in the afternoon and evening you "fill" the tree!
Take these experiences with you and hug for a long time! Hug!

RELAX
Dear Wanderer!
You have arrived in the Realm of Silence.
Come and try yoga and meditation with us to experience your healing, creative power!
The word yoga means union, unification. The merging of body, mind and spirit.
Yoga is healing because it balances the body and mind, harmonizes breathing, increases blood and lymphatic circulation, strengthens the immune system, improves brain function, relieves stress and tension... Through conscious breathing, the churning ocean of our thoughts calms down, quiets and relaxes. Yoga prepares our body and mind for meditation.
Experience the inner stillness and discover yourself!

Try the yoga postures shown in the pictures (if weather permits and you feel like it, practice barefoot).
- Keep your body relaxed and transform into a beautiful, strong tree! Your roots originate deep in the earth and your branches reach skyward. Balance alternately on your right and left foot, and feel the body fill with strength from the bottom up! (Tree Stance/Vṛkṣāsana)
- Just like dogs and cats, you stretch! With two hands and two feet on the ground, your body forms a triangle. Through your limbs, connected to the ground, looking deep within yourself, you feel your true power; it lifts you up, holds you up and supports you. (Downward-facing dog/Adho-mukha-śvanāsana)
- Come and fly like a bird! Let your arms drop to your sides, stand on one leg and lean forward until you can hold yourself steady. If you feel like it, flap your wings, lift up and down. (Warrior Three/Vīrabhadrāsana 3)
We are glad you tried the exercises, you must feel something has changed!? Strength and confidence are flowing through your body. Now all that's left is to relax.
Explore the natural altar, if you want to add to it, decorate it yourself! Take a seat, sit comfortably, if you can, in a meditation session. At first, just contemplate the altar, the beautiful pieces of nature, and let your breathing and heartbeat gently quieten down as you do so. If it feels good, close your eyes and become aware of the sounds and smells.Nothing else to do, just let the stillness and Silence flow through you!Breathe softly and evenly!
Dear Wanderer, let it become your HEALTH!
Take your experience into your everyday life and try the above exercises again!
We wish you a good journey ahead!"The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind and the harmony of the soul make up the symphony of Life."
